Siempre he creído que el papel de la mujer en la sociedad esta manchado… esta pisoteado y achicado por la misma mujer , porque no sabemos como darnos nuestro lugar, no nos la creemos, o simplemente porque somos criaturas increíbles con una sensibilidad sumamente especial y fuera de este mundo y no encajamos, “mujeres manneaticas” como diría yo.
Es por eso que este documental GIRLS ROCK! Que trata de un campamento en Oregon donde chavitas de 8 a 18 años van por 5 días a rockear literalmente ya que forman su propia banda, escogen sus integrantes, los instrumentos, hacen las rolas y las presentan en un auditorio donde acuden 700 personas. Suena increíble no? Aparte de poder convertir este sueño realidad para las chavitas; lo mas importante es que cada una trae su historia como ser humano y logran desinhibirse, convivir, creer en si mismas, conocerse y lo mas importante… saber que son hermosas por el simple hecho de existir.
Shane King también nos proporciona datos escalofriantes con cifras y porcentajes acerca de como están las chavitas en el mundo…. Muy interesante y aterrador!
100 niñas rodeadas de Fenders, Rickenbackers, teclados Realistic y muchos instrumentos increíbles son asesoradas por mujeres en toda la extensión de la palabra e invitadas de la calidad de Beth Ditto de The Gossip.
Sin duda un docu lleno de chicas manneaticas rockeando, quien sabe quizá de ahí salga nuestra siguiente Patti Smith…
Que lastima que mi mamá no sabia de esto cuando tenia 10 años… seguramente estaría mas loca y feliz el día de hoy!!!

I had always believed that the women role in society is stained…It’s trampled and shrunk by the same women, because we don’t believe in ourselves, don’t love ourselves or simply because we are incredible and sensible creatures out of this world and we just don’t fit in it, we are “manneatic women” I say.
So this documentary Girls Rock that talks about a camp in Oregon where girls from 8 to 18 go for 5 days to rock, creating their own band, choosing the members, their instruments, do the lyrics and perform a gig with 700 spectators. Sound great! Aside turning this dream true for the girls, the most important thing is that each one of them has her own story as a human being and each one manage to achieve more self confidence, to get along with others, to believe in themselves and the most important of all… to know that they’re beautiful just for the fact they exist.
Shane King also give us numbers and percentages of how our little girls are in this world.. very terrifying and annoying!
100 girls with Fenders, Rickenbackers and Realistic keyboards are being advised by powerful women and by musicians the size of Beth Ditto from The Gossip. A powerful documentary full of girls that rock, maybe one day we will have the next Patti Smith coming from there.
It’s a shame my mom didn’t knew about that camp earlier, I’m sure I would’ve been more crazy and happier today.
